Verkada, a leader in physical security technology, has successfully raised $200 million in a Series E funding round led by General Catalyst, bringing its valuation to $4.5 billion. This latest round included a notable investment from Eclipse Ventures, alongside contributions from both new and existing investors. Since its inception in 2016, Verkada has now amassed over $700 million in total funding.
The company’s previous raise was in October 2023, when it secured $100 million in funding led by Alkeon Capital.
While cybersecurity often steals the spotlight, ensuring physical security remains an essential priority. Verkada has developed an extensive lineup of intelligent security solutions, including:

“With over 1.5 million Verkada devices actively protecting locations worldwide, we are committed to delivering innovative security solutions that redefine the industry. This funding will help us accelerate our mission and expand our reach to even more organizations,” said Filip Kaliszan, co-founder and CEO of Verkada.
Security Industry Attracting Major Investments
Verkada’s funding comes amid growing investor interest in security technology startups. Other key funding rounds in the sector include:

These investments reflect an increasing demand for security innovations, particularly those enhanced by AI-driven automation.
Verkada will use this latest funding to enhance its AI capabilities and expand its physical security solutions, meeting the increasing demands of businesses and institutions worldwide. The company continues to push the boundaries of AI-driven security, providing organizations with cutting-edge intelligent surveillance, access control, and environmental monitoring tools.
As security threats evolve, the integration of AI and smart automation will play a critical role in the future of security technology—and Verkada is well-positioned to lead that transformation.
